This Cherry & Pitaya Chocolate Smoothie is a healthy, naturally vegan breakfast packed with flavor that will leave you satiated to take on the day!
Pitaya, strawberries, cherries, cacao powder, maple syrup, Camu-Camu powder, and filtered water blended into a beautiful deep cherry-colored mix.
Camu-Camu is a superfood commonly found in powder form since its home base is in the Amazon rainforest. On its own, it has a very sour taste but blended with three sweet-tasting fruits; you don't even know you're consuming this powerhouse. Camu-Camu is high in vitamin C, fiber, and anti-inflammatory properties. It also protects the heart by regulating cholesterol and many other benefits!
Are you looking to increase your iron? Pitaya has you covered with 1.9 mg in 1 cup, meeting 10.6% of your daily need. It's one of my favorite fruits. I find it in the freezer section, but it comes in powder form also. I do recommend vetting the company you purchase powered superfoods through. I've discovered TerraSoul meets my standards, and they ship through Amazon.
